Walter Isaacson: I am deeply appreciative of all of the people in Taiwan who bought the book and grateful for the elegant way that it was published. Steve Jobs can be a great inspiration in teaching us how to innovate, display a passion for perfection, and make good products. But this book is not a "how-to" guide. There are some traits Steve had that were not exemplary, such as his impatience and brusqueness. So it should be read as a tale that is both inspiring and cautionary.
Walter Isaacson: Many readers have added their own analysis and insight. I tried to tell a story. Smart readers have been analyzing it and coming up with their own lessons.
Walter Isaacson: I am not sure. I have been thinking about the 19th century mathematician Ada Lovelace, who was the daughter of the poet Lord Byron.
